This is a request I did for - her OC Akira is taking a bubble bath with her fiancee, Stormy - .
I was worried this wouldn't turn out very good given my current level of skill, but it actually isn't too bad. I spent a lot of time on it, but much of that time was spent learning SAI. This is my first full piece of artwork done in SAI. It is, of course, lacking a background as with most of my work, since I currently am terrible at drawing scenes, especially something like an indoor scene like a bathroom.
The most obvious gripe I have with this is that Stormy's head is too small, but I honestly am unsure how to deal with that at the moment. Maybe once I learn more in SAI I can come back and revise this, but to improve it at my current level of skill would be... difficult.

For an attempt on the bubbles, I'd say this is some decent work. I really don't want to sound snobby, but the bubbles could use more detail. If each, if not most, bubble had an outline I'd think It'd be more effective, especially if those bubbles had highlights on them. Just a lighter shade of pink, or a pure square of white on each would really make it pop. Well, these bubbles are at least better than my stairs. Keep up the work, sir. Improvement is becoming more visible!
Well, the bubbles are actually modeled after bubbles from the show, which also use this flat layered paper style. At first, I had been drawing them with highlights and such to make them "3D", but was very disappointed in how they looked. Okaboka suggested I check the episode "Feeling Pinkie Keen" where Twilight is in a bubble bath (First scene where we meet Gummy), and the bubbles there inspired these bubbles.
Looks good! Though I'd say the outlining could be a bit thicker. Nice job for your first piece with SAI. Its an interesting tool, but does take some getting used to.
